Pick a starting point below. We’ll fine-tune the finish once we see your actual floor.
Natural Oil
Warm, matte, low-sheen: closest to bare, cared-for wood.
Hardwax Oil
Deeper matte tone with extra wear resistance underfoot.
Satin Lacquer
A soft, even sheen, the most popular everyday finish.
High-Gloss Lacquer
Maximum shine and reflection, for a bolder statement room.
Whitewash / Limewash
Washed-out, pale tone that lifts darker or older timber.
Dark Walnut Stain
Rich, near-black stain for a dramatic, contemporary look.
“We don’t just finish floors. We read them: every nail hole, every patch, every board tells us how the house was lived in.”
Founding crew, Dublin Surface WorksBuilt when Dublin was Georgian.
Still standing beneath your carpet.
Under the carpets in a lot of Dublin’s older homes, there’s still original pitch pine or parquet from the Georgian and Victorian days. Floors like that can outlast generations, if they’re looked after properly.
Most crews treat every floor the same way. We don’t. Original period floors get slower prep and gentler passes, because once that timber is gone, it’s gone for good.

Covering Dublin
Small on purpose
We’re a new, small Dublin crew: small enough that whoever quotes your job is also the person managing it, start to finish. No call centre, and no handing your job off to a stranger. On bathroom renovations, where plumbing or electrical work needs a certified specialist, we bring in the same approved people every time and stay on-site managing the work ourselves.
We’re building our name one job at a time, starting with Dublin’s older homes. Every project gets photographed start to finish, so our portfolio (and your confidence in us) grows together.
